At DRBU, we welcome and encourage a diversity of students from different backgrounds. We welcome international students to apply to the Summer Program! Please review this page carefully and reach out to summer.program@drbu.edu with any questions.

Visa Requirements

International students are required to hold a U.S. Visa in order to attend the Summer Program. To read more about the Visa application process, visit the U.S. Department of State’s Tourism & Visit website.

The first step in the process is to complete your application to the Summer Program. Once you have been admitted to the program, we will follow up with you regarding the next steps. We encourage you to apply as early as possible to avoid delays in acquiring your visa.

English Language Proficiency

All Seminars and other programming at the Summer Program are conducted in English. Students should feel comfortable reading, writing, and discussing complex ideas in English. If you are a native English speaker, or you attend a school where English is the primary language of instruction, you may request an English language waiver. Your request will be reviewed as part of your application. If you are a non-native speaker and you attend a school where English is not the primary language of instruction, you will be required to submit scores to a qualifying English language proficiency test such as TOEFL, IELTS (International English Language Testing System), or Duolingo. We expect the following scores of capable candidates:

iBT TOEFL: Minimum score of 90

IELTS: Minimum overall band score of 7.0

Duolingo: Minimum score of 115

We reserve the right to request additional documentation and/or test scores of any applicant.
