Conditions for Continued Eligibility for Financial Aid

To remain eligible for financial aid at Dharma Realm Buddhist University, students must meet the following institutional standards and responsibilities. Financial aid is intended to support students who demonstrate academic commitment, uphold university values, and maintain good standing within the university community. DRBU reserves the right to modify financial aid awards based on institutional review of student standing and conduct. Aid may be adjusted, suspended, or revoked if any of the following conditions are not met.

1. Satisfactory Academic Progress

Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress, as determined by the Office of Academic Affairs. This generally includes consistent advancement toward the timely completion of their degree program.

2. Full-Time Enrollment

Unless otherwise approved, students receiving financial aid must remain enrolled full-time during each semester of the award period. A change in enrollment status (e.g., withdrawal, leave of absence, or reduced course load) may result in a reevaluation or cancellation of aid.

3. Conduct and Community Standards

Recipients of financial aid are expected to uphold the University’s Code of Conduct. Financial aid may be suspended or revoked in cases of academic dishonesty, behavioral violations resulting in disciplinary action, or conduct deemed inconsistent with the mission and values of Dharma Realm Buddhist University.

4. Work-Study Performance

Students awarded financial aid with a work-study component are expected to fulfill their assignments with professionalism, reliability, and accountability. Failure to report for duty, repeated absences or tardiness, or conduct deemed unprofessional may result in the suspension, reduction, or termination in the overall financial aid award.

5. Timely Payment of Fees

Students must make timely payments of all required university fees, including tuition, room and board, and other charges. Failure to meet payment deadlines may result in registration holds, late fees, or reassessment of financial aid eligibility.

6. Compliance with University Policies

Receipt and continuation of financial aid is contingent upon full compliance with all applicable university policies, procedures, and deadlines. This includes, but is not limited to, timely submission of required documentation, payment of tuition and fees, adherence to codes of conduct, and fulfillment of academic and administrative obligations. Aid recipients are solely responsible for understanding these requirements and for seeking clarification as necessary. Failure to comply may result in the suspension, reduction, or revocation of financial aid. The University reserves the right to withdraw aid at its discretion in response to noncompliance or misconduct.

7. Notification of Changes

Students must promptly notify the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid of any changes to their financial circumstances, enrollment status, or academic standing. Such changes may affect aid eligibility or award amounts.
