Dr. Peter Moore recently joined DRBU as an assistant professor. Originally raised in the Northeast, Dr. Moore came to DRBU by way of the University of Kentucky and Xavier University, where he taught a variety of courses in Western philosophy, ranging from introductory courses in ethics, epistemology, and logic, to specialized topics in ancient Greek philosophy and philosophy of law. He holds a PhD in Ancient Greek philosophy with a specialization in the moral and political philosophy in Plato’s Republic, but his recent research projects deal with Euclid’s Elements and the role of ancient Greek mathematics in Plato’s philosophy. Having also long been involved in the practice and study of Buddhism, Dr. Moore is interested in exploring affinities between the ethics and ontology of Buddhism and ancient Greek philosophy.
